Take the Car Battery out from under the hood… Car batteries contain lead, which is what is known as, a non-ferrous metal that means it contains no iron. Most scrap yards will not allow you to sell your car to them with a battery in it anyway, however you can sell the car battery separately for more money, if you know where to go, these usually bring between $8.00-$15.00 apiece.
Most of us have out of date foods in our cupboards we’ve been consuming over the years without realizing it. Some things like milk and potato chips do go stale after going past their expiration by a few days or a few weeks. Canned foods usually last a long time past these dates as do many boxed foods.
I hate to say this, but even if you’re keeping on top of inventory control and management, you may find yourself liquidating to avoid bankruptcy. That’s just the way it is in this economy. This means you’re going to have to decide what your breaking point is now before you reach that point, and you need to make sure you have an exit strategy in case your inventory control and other cost-cutting measures don’t work out for you.
People often think of an auto junkyard as just another dump – but present day junkyards are actually a form of recycling and easy on the environment. Most car audio tucson that end up in a junkyard are either sold at auctions or sold for scrap. In fact, junkyards provide steel and many other metals to the building and car industries, ensuring that the metals from a junked car continue to be used for other vital purposes and help save important natural resources, as well. In addition, the modern junkyard is regulated by federal and state laws that have strict guidelines on the draining and disposal of all fluids from junk cars, so the junkyard is no longer a threat to the ground water in the area.
Track inventory – you’d be amazed at how many craft show booth sellers do not track inventory. Any business with inventory, regardless of how large or small, needs to track it, whether by computer or by hand.
Some are more organized than others and will have the parts taken off the vehicles and housed on shelves for easy location purposes. Many today have computerized systems that keep track of exactly what they have in stock and even offer the items online. This practice is the exception and definitely not the rule. Most salvage yards look exactly as they are pictured to look, jammed with vehicles, dirty and not well kept.
For loose miscellaneous items, or anything you just have tons of, let people fill a bag for ten or twenty dollars. This creates excitement and sells products that you wouldn’t sell much of individually.
Government Auctions: This is one of the best sources for boats and not just for junk, either. Many people don’t even know these auctions happen right in their own city. Others think that it’s just too difficult to place a bid. The truth is these auctions are located throughout the country and it’s as easy to bid as it is on eBay. You can find salvage boats for sale here, but you’ll also find boats that are nearly new.
